I made the mistake of taking her to the camp however I learn quickly. I suggest future visitors ask why the dog owners are not welcome behind the lobby door. I will certainly share my experience with all the people in my circle of friends and acquaintances.
My dog had difficulty with the loud environment and handlers that were strangers to her. Instead of calling me to make me aware of this after I left, my dog was trapped in an environment that was frightening to her for 6 hours and I was not contacted. She was there for a "play date". Staff were given all my information upon arrival. I could have been called at any time. I think it cruel that they knew she was frightened and did not call me.
Judging from her behavior when she returned, she must have been terrified the entire 6 hours she was there. I expect, because of the lack of judgement of the owner and staff at the camp today, they reinforced my dog's fear of strangers and new environments. Charlie has no sympathy nor compassion for an animal that is shy and/or fearful. When I asked for his suggestions, his comment to me was that "She can not be fixed. When we found dogs like this in Vietnam, we killed them." What person with a shred of human compassion would say that to a person like myself who genuinely loves her dog? I was shocked and left in tears. I am proud I have emotions that obviously are lacking in Charlie - the owner of this camp. My husband and myself agree that Charlie is an extremely rude individual. God knows what he could do to a dog that he found challenging. I left wondering if my dog had been abused behind the door that I was not allowed to enter.
To anyone reading this review:
I simply think you need to think about how you respond to your clients and give thought to the fact that you are not absolutely perfect in your judgement as you would like everyone to think. Your response with us was rudely blunt! I am a registered nurse, well educated and am appalled at the callous uncaring attitude you took concerning my dogs fear. I was listening and understood your every word. I was very shocked at the time. We were there for your suggestions and assistance and I am extremely disappointed in you and your staff.
I am disappointed that you chose to respond by misrepresenting my statements. Your response did not reflect my conversation accurately. Bluntly, you have lied about the statements I made to you. My husband was present and just now reacted the same way I did with your misrepresentation of our conversation. We have never had to put Milly up when visitors drop by the house. Just yesterday we had a friend over and he enjoyed greeting and interacting with Milly. I did not ask you "if we could fix the problem" - I recall that I asked "what would you suggest?". This is when you replied "when we found these dogs in Vietnam, we killed them". We are not in Vietnam. The word slander implies lies and I am speaking no less than the truth - God as my witness.
My pup Mick loves being at Charlie's K-9 Camp and I feel confident that he is in good hands while he is there. The staff are kind, knowledgeable and always willing to help. Mick goes to Charlie's for boarding, playdates and grooming, I have always been happy with the care he receives. If you are looking for a facility that truly cares for your dog then take them to Charlie's K-9 Camp.
I still think you should have called us when you saw that Milly was so very terrified. She had never been in a kennel nor such a loud environment. Add strangers that had her trapped with no escape and I think it was too much too soon for her. Again, I would have appreciated a call to pick her up so that she would not have been terrified for 6 hours. The act of forcing her to endure 6 hours of terror borders on abuse. I repeat, I should have been called.
A great safe place for your furry buddy to spend some time
My dog is a sweet and caring animal. She is thoroughly loved and enjoyed among the people with which she is familiar.

I have absolutely no fear of Milly. I think with some further attention from us, she will improve and we can manage the fear she shows in rare occasions. She demonstrates love, affection obedience and interacts well with our friends and family.
Can't say enough about Charlie and crew. Dogs get bathed, boarded and go to day camp and love it.
