The brisket, expensive and very small portion ,literally tough as shoe leather. Drenched in sauce,. very tough. Lesson learned. I know brisket, might be worst I've ever had. Do like the red slaw. Win some, lose some, but $18 lb, it SHOULD be good.
This is one of my go to stops for BBQ if I'm passing thru. Right off I-40. As good as Lexington Style BBQ gets. If you don't like Lexington Style BBQ that's ok because millions of people do. Hate it for ya! The Red Slaw really sets off a BBQ sandwich by the way. Great hush puppies. And the sauce isn't the Boss in Lexington, the Smoke is.
Waited 20 minutes before someone came to greet us. Drinks came, ordered food, half came out. By the time we got the other half of the order the first of us served had finished eating. Not happy in the least.
Excellent North Carolina BBQ, which a really nice selection of other sandwiches and dishes. Nice old country decor. I don't really like BBQ, but I love this place. Highly recommended!

Instead of getting the traditional BBQ I ended up getting a country ham sandwich and it was very good. I don't treat myself very often to them because of the salt content but this is one time I was glad I did.
