Also: the potato wedges are really, really good. Breaded in some kind of crispy seasoned flour or something, I'd definitely recommend those. Service is fast, prices are fair, it's definitely worth a stop if you're driving by on the highway.
It doesn't look like much from outside (well, it actually looks just like an old Burger King or Hardee's), but inside is some very, very good chicken. It's not out of this world or anything, so don't keep your expectations too high - it's just very solid, crispy chicken that's not overly salty. Kinda tastes like "homemade" or something someone would bring to a picnic, if that makes any sense. And like the catchphrase says, it's not greasy! (I mean, of course it's going to be greasy, but it's not TOO greasy).
The food is absolutely amazing and as far as fried chocken goes, well priced. It's just like the chicken your grandma would make and the tater wedges are awesome. The employees are very friendly. The only problems I've had with the place are pretty outrageous wait times in the drive-thru, but the food almost makes it worth it.
The food is okay, so I came to this location on 12/16/17, and waited in line for 27 minutes behind 4 other people. When I got to the counter finally, they said the wait for chicken was 12-15 minutes. I couldn't wait any longer an left. The drive through had 6 cars waiting. The other location in Winston is much faster.
We've eaten there before and it was good. But, on 12/17/2017, it was a different story. We had 4 take out orders. We waited 25 minutes meanwhile, 15 cars went through the drive through with no problems. When we got home, 2 orders of chicken fingers were laughable. Three of the fingers in each order were less than 3 inches long along with a miniscule drum stick. Why didn't they tell us they didn't have any and we would have ordered something else? Will not be going back.
